The GSA international event this year is:
CARNIVAL
Come and experience the event celebrated annually by the Latin world.
Friday, March 23
4:30 pm
MRBIII Courtyard
Derived from the Latin expression “carne vale”, which means farewell to meat, carnival was started by Catholics and intended to be a period of feasting before lent season began. Today, there are variations of carnival all around the world, including Mardi Gras here in the United States, but all showcase the rich cultural histories of their countries. Carnival is therefore a truly international event. So, mark your calendars for March 23! There will be food, drinks, and music. Just come and have a good time. In the true spirit of carnival, a carnival king and a queen will be crowned. So, come in your best carnival costumes because the gentleman and lady with the best costume will be crowned carnival king and queen. See you then!
