Each year, the GSA sponsors one or two speakers to come to Vanderbilt and give a talk during the Biological Sciences seminar.
Speakers are democratically chosen by the graduate students from the Department of Biological Sciences. Speakers who have been chosen are outstanding members of their field. Often, speakers are outspoken scientists who have worked to make research more understandable to the public often through popular science books, blogs, or movies.
To nominate someone you would like to come and speak at Vanderbilt, email your nomination to one of our speaker chairs, Cassidy Cobbs (cassidy.c.cobbs@Vanderbilt.Edu) or Udo Obodo (udochukwu.c.obodo@Vanderbilt.Edu). Nominations for 2013 will begin in late Novemeber to early December 2012.
