Thanks for your interest in Circle K Community Service Club!
Circle K is a college community service organization that is part of the larger Kiwanis family, which includes Key Club for high school students and Kiwanis for adults. We organize a wide variety of service projects, with events going on every week.
There are no specific hour requirements for Circle
K. You can do as much community service as you have time
for.
We have many ongoing projects where we volunteer once or twice
a month, as well as
individual projects. Check them out here.
Circle K is different from most Vanderbilt service organizations because we do all kinds of different service projects, instead of just focusing on one specific project. We are also don't have any service hour requirements – you do as much as you have time for.
We meet the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month at 8 pm in Buttrick 312 to discuss and sign up for projects. There will also be speakers occassionally, speaking briefly about a variety of topics.
Don't worry if you can't make a meeting - we always send out minutes after the meetings so you can know what you missed. We also provide a calendar of events each month, so you know what to expect. Still, meetings are the best place to hear details about the projects and to get to know other Circle K members! If you're not already on the Circle K list serv, email our secretary Rachel!
Yes, you are definitely welcome! Club dues are $33 and the last day to turn these in to our treasurer Mark for this semester is November 11, 2009. Mail check or cash to Mark Etherington (VU Station B #8155) or bring it to the next meeting. Address checks to Vanderbilt Circle K.
We don't want dues to keep anyone from joining, so let us know if you need help paying, and we'll figure something out.
You can still join this semester! See Question 7 for dues information.
