SEC/Big East Invitational – Sommet Center

As of Dec 1 student tickets are on sale at the Sarratt Box Office for the SEC/Big East Invitational taking place at the Sommet Center Dec 16th.

Vanderbilt and Tennessee will be featured in a doubleheader.

Student tickets for the 2nd annual SEC/Big East Invitational, including 2 games at the Sommet Center will go on sale Monday, December 1st at 10AM CST at the Box Office in Sarratt. Student tickets are $16.50 each and students will be able to purchase up to 2 tickets per student ID, only 1 Student ID per person!

The invitational is a 2-night men’s college basketball tournament taking place in 2 cities, with a doubleheader in Nashville on Dec 16th. Followed by a doubleheader in Cincinnati on Dec 18th. The games at the Sommet Center feature Vandy vs South Florida at 6PM CST, followed by Tennessee vs Marquette at 8:30PM CST.

Full Moon Hike (Team Green)

Meet at Edwin Warner Park picnic site #9, off Vaughn Road – across from the model airplane field. Bring your flashlight, water and walking shoes. This event is free and open to the public. No reservations needed. Heavy rain/storms cancels.

Directions:
Take West End to Highway 100. Turn left on Old Hickory Blvd then Right on Vaughn Road at the light. Turn at the second park entrance where the shelters are located and drive to the end of shelter #9.

Wilderness First Aid Training (Team Green)

This course teaches how to use the resources around you to sustain life in situations where emergency rescue is hours or days away. There is also a CPR component. The Wilderness First Aid certificate is good for 3 yrs and the CPR certificate is good for one year.

Two Part Course:

Sunday Dec 7 9AM-9PM
Wednesday Dec 10 6PM-10PM
Location: TBD
Cost: $125 (includes books, pizza dinner on Sunday evening and certifications in Wilderness First Aid and Adult CPR)

Team Green Warner Pike Hike

Team Green will meet in the parking lot at Edwin Warner Park Nature Center located just west of the intersection of Old Hickory Blvd and Highway 100. The plan is to hike about 6 miles over moderately rated trails. Just bring water and a snack and wear hiking shoes or boots. Friends, family and dogs on leashes are welcome!

Law School Beer Tasting Fundraiser to Support Children’s Hospital

The Law School is throwing a Beer Tasting to benefit Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital! Join them tomorrow (Friday) November 14, 2008 at 6:30PM at the Vanderbilt Law School Blackacre. It will feature dozens of American Microbrews, Food, and Live Music played by “Your Mom”.

There is a $10 suggested donation!
