Many female grad students and postdocs have shared that at times they feel isolated or feel that issues that arise are only happening to and around them. The goal of this session is to bring female grad students and postdocs together to meet each other, provide resources, and have facilitated discussions about women in academe. As a group we will identify some of the top issues, priorities and challenges for women in academe. Expect to meet other women from across Vanderbilt Academia and begin to build your network on campus…because you are definitely NOT alone. A light snack will be provided. For more information and to RSVP, please contact Stacy Nunnally at stacy.nunnally@vanderbilt.edu or 322-6518.
The Women in Academe series of workshops, co-sponsored by the Margaret Cuninggim Women’s Center, the BRET Office of Career Development, and the School of Engineering, explore issues pertinent to women in the academy and aims to foster dialogue between women in varying locations within the academy. Sessions are open to all Vanderbilt graduate students, professional students, and post-doctoral fellows. Make out with Violence – Film Screening – Free
| November 11, 2008 | ||
| 6:00 pm |
MAKE OUT WITH VIOLENCE
Tuesday, November 11 at 6pm in Buttrick 103.
The screening is free and open to the public.
Shot locally, the zombie love story, MAKE OUT WITH VIOLENCE, is a genre-bending tale of a boy trying to fulfill his unrequited love for a girl who has risen from the dead. Set against the backdrop of a summer of cicadas and melty milkshakes, the film blends elements of up-beat teenager melodrama with the strange gravity of classic coming of age stories.
