The Career Center at Vanderbilt The Career Center offers a variety of services including resume and interview assistance, on-campus employer interviews, and individual career counseling. Many graduate students take advantage of the credentials service, which means the Career Center will keep your letters of recommendation, resume, and transcripts on file and then send them out, with your authorization, to prospective employers. This service is primarily used by those seeking teaching positions.

For students who feel that career assessment and testing would be beneficial, The Vanderbilt Psychological and Counseling Center can administer the Strong Vocational Interest Inventory, Myers-Briggs Personality Type Indicator (MBTI), and the Kruder Occupational Interest Survey. All three can be completed in about two hours, and there is a fee.

The Career Center has a resource center with videos, books, and annual reports for companies recruiting on campus and a wide variety of career development literature. The annual Career Fairs in September and January bring employers from various industries to campus. An alumni network also provides students access to alums for career advice.

While on-campus interviewing is available only in the last two semesters before graduation, career counseling and the resource center may be used at any time during your studies at Vanderbilt. Students interested in participating in on-campus recruiting must attend one of the Career Center orientations in the fall.
