Research Day

Call for Papers and Posters
22nd Annual Graduate Student Research Day
Student Life Center, Vanderbilt University
Monday, March 31, 2008

Abstract Submission Deadline: Friday, February 29, 2008

Contributions are invited for the annual interdisciplinary graduate conference supported by the Graduate Student Council. Contributors should prepare a 250 word abstract, detailed as follows:

Abstract:

Your abstract should be no longer than 250 words in English. Also, to aid in dividing presentations into panels, please include five key words about your presentation (these will not be included in any printed material, and are simply for organizational purposes). Please upload your name, department, presentation title, abstract and keywords by Friday, February 29th.

A book of abstracts will be prepared using the abstract of each presenter. Copies will be available online and at Graduate Student Research Day, from 8:00- 5:30. If you have a preferred time that you would like to present (morning or afternoon), please submit your abstract early!

Paper Presentations:

All presentations will be limited to 15 minutes with 5 minutes of question and answer immediately following. If presenting research using multimedia, it should be prepared in Microsoft Power Point.

All multimedia will be compiled in advance to eliminate technical difficulties during the day of the event. Power Point presentations should be emailed to VandyGSRD@gmail.com by Wednesday, March 19th. Please label your attachment according to this format: LastName_Title.

Poster Presentations:

If you are presenting a poster, please limit your poster size to 4′ x 6′. We will supply tables and/or easels. Poster presentations will be broken up into morning and afternoon sessions. (You do not have to stay with your poster the entire time, but we do encourage you to be available for questions.)

Door Prizes and Travel Grants:

To thank you for your participation in this event, your name will be entered in a raffle for two travel grants as well as monetary gifts from the Graduate Student Council. Additionally, all participants are invited to attend a reception in your honor!

Research Day Panels:

Panels are encouraged! If you would like to form your own panel for GSRD (3 or more related presentations), complete the Panel Submission Form.

Additional Information:

All abstracts submitted will be accepted to the Graduate Student Research Day. Please feel free to forward information about the conference to colleagues and department contacts at Vanderbilt.
