Travel Grants
GSC Travel Grants
GSC travel grants are intended to aid students in covering travel expenses related to attending academic conferences, symposia, workshops, etc. Grants are only available to students who will be presenting personal research.
All travel grants must be approved by the GSC travel grant committee prior to the conference.
GSC travel grant awards are taxable and you will be responsible for claiming awarded funds on your federal income tax return. The GSC is not responsible for tax counseling or advice as to how to file an income tax return.
GSC travel grants will not exceed $300 per grant. Funds are limited so apply early.
In order to provide equal and unbiased opportunity for graduate students to receive GSC travel awards, the GSC travel grant selection committee will be drawing one name at each meeting. Applicants who do not win will be automatically entered in the next month’s drawing provide the date of their presentation has not passed by then. Applications are eligible in every drawing between acceptance and the date of the presentation, so it is in your best interest to complete your application early. Travel grants are available all year.
