The CBII group in the above photo just returned from China. The group includes Earl Morgan, Maxie Green, James Cravens, Mark Yates, and Joe Rea Phillips. This was a nine day trip that included a week long seminar and the Ba Si Ceremony for Earl Morgan and Joe Rea Phillips, who became 20th generation Indoor Disciples of Grandmaster Chen Xiaowang.

The Vanderbilt University Kung Fu Club meets Thursday nights in the mat room of the VU Recreation Center. We welcome new students to our club and can assure you that we have a great group that trains in a positive environment. We train in the arts of Chen Tai Chi, Chuan, Pa Kua, Chang, Walu, and other great Chinese Boxing arts that emphasize realistic self - defense. Of course these arts are also excellent for maintaining and improving one's overall health. We welcome students at all levels including beginners and those from other martial arts backgrounds. We will teach our first few classes in a way that will give new students a good sample of how we train Sifu Joe Rea Phillips serves as the instructor and faculty adviser of the club. However, he has been very fortunate to have had assistance from Max Lucas and Patrick Taylor for many years. Max and Patrick are Senior Students of Sifu Phillips and are highly qualified in Pa Kua Chang, Tai Chi Chuan, and Chinese Boxing. Aaron Coffey is the President of the club.
Dues: $75 a semester - 2 free evaluation classes

Monday - 8:00pm - 10:00pm - All levels open training session
Thursday - 6:30pm - 8:00pm - Beginner
Thursday 8:00pm - 9:30pm - Intermediate
In addition the club generally hosts a seminar at least once per semester with Sifu Phillips' teacher, James Cravens.
