Lutheran Student Fellowship – LCMS at Vanderbilt
University
Constitution and By-Laws
Article I, Name
The name of this student organization shall be known as Lutheran Student Fellowship
– LCMS.
Article II, Affiliation
This student organization shall be affiliated with Lutheran Student Fellowship
of the Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod.
Article III, Purpose and Goals
Lutheran Student Fellowship – LCMS strives to enable students:
(1) to grow in faith and love of Jesus Christ through Bible study,
(2) to grow in their understanding of the teachings and practice of the Lutheran
Church – Missouri Synod,
(3) and to gather for Christian fellowship and service projects.
Article IV, Membership
Membership is open at any time to all students of Vanderbilt University
Article V, Officers
The elected officers of this organization shall be enrolled as students of
Vanderbilt University. The officers shall be:
President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer
Article VI, By-Laws
LSF-LCMS members may adopt such by-laws as needed to carry out the Purpose
and Goals of this organization.
By-Laws
By-Law 1, Officers and Duties
President – shall preside over regular and executive meetings; shall
coordinate group activities, Bible study topics and leaders, and guest speakers.
Vice President – shall assist the president and preside over meetings
in the absence of the president.
Secretary – shall record minutes at all business meetings and maintain
all necessary correspondence.
Treasurer – shall pay bills and oversee other monetary transactions,
including fundraising; shall prepare and maintain regular reports to the members.
By-Law 2, Elections
a) Officers shall be elected in April.
b) Officers shall be elected for one-year terms.
c) Members may be elected to more than one office only if at least four candidates
are not available for the ballot.
