Project Updates and Volunteer Opportunities

Cardboard Crew

Volunteers for cardboard crew are needed for this fall. You can move in early! Contact Peter or Jinsu to sign up.

Eco-Fashion Show

The Eco-Fashion Show will take place on September 10, 2009. Interested people should come to a meeting on Thursday, April 16 at 12:15 PM in Sarratt 110.

Right now, volunteers are needed for a model search this Wed, Thurs, Fri on the wall. Contact Leslie to volunteer for shifts (11 AM - 12 PM and 12 - 1 PM).

Rites of Spring Recycling

Volunteers are needed to man table on April 17 and 18, 7 - 9 PM. Passers-by can guess the amount of waste recycled last year, and the winner gets a gift certificate to Green Wagon.

Volunteers are also needed for recycling at 11:30 PM. Recycling will be done in teams of 2, and there will be pizza. A drawing will be conducted at the end of each night. Prizes for the winning pair are as follows:

  • 1st prize: two $20 gift cards to Calypso Cafe (2/night, 4 total)
  • 2nd prize: two SPEAR tee-shirts

Kilowatt Ours Youth Initiative

In the fall, you can volunteer once every 3 weeks for 30 mins per session. Contact Peter more information.

Green roof/compost expansion to Rand and Sarratt

Hanging Gardens of Stevenson (Math Building) proposed.

Mt. Trashmore

On April 22, trash from all buildings touching Alumni Lawn (except Rand) will be piled into a giant mountain. Volunteers are needed 11 AM - 2 PM, and after 6 PM. Contact to sign up.
