Presentation of Resolutions, Speaker O’Neill

• Resolution H/S 11-12-16: Confirmation of Appointed Officials Replacements
• Technical Questions:
  • Last line: “in full” is confusing, makes it sound like must be unanimous vote, which obviously is not the case. Why is this term used when it was not used in previous resolution?
    • Not in full by unanimous but by majority
    • Debate:
      • None in Senate
      • House
        • Is Chelsea Hamilton here?
          • Asked to not be here because of debate
  • What happens if a member of the Executive board wants to go abroad?
    • Has never happened, but would probably be treated similarly
  • Is it somewhat expected to not go abroad if on the Executive board?
    • Not signed to do it, but viewed as year long commitment so somewhat understood—handled on individual basis, though
  • How many people were interested in this position?
    • Four applied, read applications, consulted with current co-chairs
    • Resolution passes Senate
    • Resolution passes House

  • Checking academic and conduct status as well
  • Exec sending out survey for feedback

  • Monthly Budget Update: Treasurer Rohan Batra
    • Have spent $31, 600 which is in line with historic usual
    • Strategic Planning Committee Update: SPC Chair Aladine Eslamadicy
      • Peter B. giving update
      • Dealing with two main issues
        • Election reform: standardizing process, increasing transparency, series of resolutions at beginning of next semester
        • Committee reform
        • House Programming Update: Speaker O’Neill
          • Thank you for planning study breaks in every area
          • P-Card issues… do not ever send Rohan an e-mail directly, he is a grumpy man
          • Co-Sponsorship Update: Executive Vice President Manard
            • Done for the year, but CSOM deadline for January is December 15^th
            • Changes going into effect for application in January
