Friday Night Sights (1/27): A Cool Night of Ice Skating

Ice skating is so much fun, and great exercise too! So grab a friend and meet behind the Dean’s Residence at 7:15pm sharp on January 27 to catch a shuttle to nearby Centennial Sportsplex. Your entrance fee and skate rental are free! The shuttle will make two return trips—one at 9pm and one at 10pm.

To register, click on the Sign-ups link on the left side of this page (Commonplace).

Here are some skating tips:
•Bring a jacket and gloves. It’s cold in the ice rink.
•Lockers are available for fifty cents to secure valuables.
•Before renting skates, decide if you want to wear regular skates or hockey skates.
•Bring one pair of thin socks to wear for more accurate rental skate fit.
•Rental skates must fit tight for support (no wobbly ankles and fewer blisters!). You may need to ask for a smaller size.
•When renting skates, let them know if your feet are wide or narrow.
•Be sure to pull the laces tightly and cross the laces over and around each hook all the way to the top.

This Friday Night Sights event is sponsored by the Dean of The Commons and The CommonDores Programming Council of VSG.
