Profiles in Achievement: A Conversation with Godfrey Dillard – Kappa Alpha Psi (2/20)
What: This event will be a moderated discussion with Vanderbilt pioneer Godfrey Dillard. Mr. Dillard was one of the first black athletes at Vanderbilt alongside Perry Wallace and a cofounder of the Afro-American Student Association (now Black Student Alliance). Mr. Dillard pledged Kappa Alpha Psi at Fisk University in 1968 and became the first VU student to join a black greek organization while at Vanderbilt. Mr. Dillard transferred from Vanderbilt after not making the varsity basketball team because of an injury and his political activities on campus. This conversation will allow him to tell his story and be recognized as the trailblazer that he is in our community.
