Vanderbilt Student Government

The Senate is the smaller chamber in VSG’s bicameral system. It is presided over by the Speaker of the Senate. The Senate’s responsibilities include representing the best interests of the student body, voicing student concerns on academic affairs, and voting on all VSG resolutions. Each school senator co-chairs a VSG committee, while each Council President chairs their school council. School councils serve as the link between students and deans in their respective schools. The Director of Faculty Relations works to build relationships between VSG and faculty, serves as VSG’s liaison to the Faculty Senate, and helps advise the senate on faculty affairs. The Senate Assistant helps the Speaker in administering the Senate.
