Vandy Vans

The Vanderbilt Police Department administers the Vandy Vans shuttle bus program at Vanderbilt University. The Vandy Vans pick up and drop off at pre-designated points on campus. The service operates from 5:00 PM to 5:00 AM during the fall and spring semesters. The vans follow four routes on campus.

The Main Route is a timed route that makes a continuous loop around campus approximately every 30 minutes, making the following ten stops in order: Police Headquarters, Lupton dormitory at Branscomb Quad, 24th Avenue between Carmichael Towers East and West, Kissam Quad at Hemingway, Terrace Place Garage, Wesley Place Garage, North Hall, the Blair School of Music, Highland Quad at Morgan Circle, and McGugin Center.

The Commons Route is now a reverse route that stops at the following locations in order: Highland Quad at Morgan Circle, Crawford Hall, Ingram Hall, Carmichael Towers, and Lupton dormitory at Branscomb Quad.

The Express Route stops at the following locations in order: Lupton dormitory at Branscomb Quad, Carmichael Towers, Kissam Quad at Hemingway, North Hall, and Highland Quad at Morgan Circle.

The Direct Route stops at the following locations in order: Lupton dormitory at Branscomb Quad, Carmichael Towers, Kissam Quad, North Hall, and Ingram Hall.  The Direct Route only runs on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.

Stops were chosen based on an accessible waiting area and student input.  Signs identify each stop.

A walking escort to and from the designated stops may be requested by dialing (615) 421-8888, or 1-8888 from a campus phone, after which, a representative from VPD will be dispatched to the caller's location, or to a designated meeting point to accompany the caller to his or her destination.

We welcome student comments on the effectiveness and level of service provided by the Vandy Vans.  A Vandy Vans Comment/Complaint form is available for your convenience.
