The Events: Description and ScheduleKids One Mile: For any kids age 12 and under, one mile on the track.The Open Mile: Anyone may run in the Open Mile, which will be divided into four heats, with the fastest heat running first. The Greek Relay: Vanderbilt University sororities will face off in the sorority relay, while men will face off separately in the fraternity relay. Teams will have four members—all of whom must currently be members of their Greek chapter. Each team member will run one lap around the track. The winning team of each respective relay will be crowned “The Fastest Sorority/Fraternity”. Open Mile Heat 1: 6:00 p.m. Open Mile Heat 2: 6:15 p.m. Open Mile Heat 3: 6:30 p.m. Open Mile Heat 4: 6:55 p.m. Soritory 4x400 Relay: 7:20 p.m. Fraternity 4x400 Relay: 7:40 p.m. Note that schedule will change based on number of entrants per raceRegistration and Entry FeesDay-of-Race registration will end at 5:30pm. You may also register Day-of-Race at the track beginning at 4:00pm. On-line entries are $1 higher than these posted mail-in entry fees due to service fees. All fees are flat rates and do not change with time.Open Mile – Student: $10 Open Mile – Adult: $15 Greek 4x400 Relay: $40 for all four members Note that online entry fees are $1 higher due to credit card and server feesSorry no refunds! Additionally, there will be music cranking and an emcee covering the races. Get ready for a good time!T-ShirtsT-shirts will be given to the first 150 registrants. Mail in entries will be considered received when they arrive in our mailbox.Awards and Door PrizesKids One Mile: Each participant will receive a ribbon for their completion of the mile.Open Mile: The top male and female runners in the Open Mile will each receive a free pair of shoes of their choice from Team Nashville! The following 15 runners of both genders will receive medals. The “Rabbit”: A VSS member dressed as a bunny will be “rabbiting” each Open Mile heat. Should a runner beat the rabbit, the rabbit will donate $50 to the VSS Scholarship Fund, and pay the winner $50. Greek Relay: The winning sorority and fraternity house will each receive a personalized plaque, while each member of the relay team will receive a medal. Every registered participant will be entered into a drawing for door prizes from local businesses. Throughout the event, the emcee will call out race numbers of participants, who can then claim their prize. Last year’s prizes were donated by Starbucks, Smoothie King, Green Hills Cinema, Jackson’s Bar and Bistro, Ben & Jerry’s, and Mambu. Packet PickupPackets may be picked up Tuesday, April 1 from 10am to 6pm at the Vanderbilt University track on Natchez trace (see directions at top of page).
