Vanderbilt Students for Students Donation Contest Winner Receives Dinner for Two at Ruth’s Chris SteakhouseCongratulations to Michael Nordlund on raising $1,000.![]() NASHVILLE. TN — January 15, 2008 — Between December 11th and January 15th members of Vanderbilt Students for Students raised a total of $2,783.50 in donations towards this year’s scholarship fund for a senior at Nashville’s Pearl-Cohn High school. The award for the contest was dinner for two, at $130 value, at Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse for the group member who garnered the most money. Mike Nordlund, the group’s Vice President came back from Christmas break with a $1,000 check to seal his place as the leader. At today’s meeting Nordlund’s victory was announced. Now he will have to decide who that lucky person it that he is going to take! The efforts of other group members should not be overshadowed however. Special thanks to Courtney Bodenstab, Adam Banks, Rob Whiting, and Lauren Zaluda. Their efforts, combined with Nordlund’s, put the organization's cash on hand at over $7,000 with only $1,500 in liabilities for scholarship payments. Of course, Vanderbilt Students for Students is still taking donations. |
