Theresa Nandzo, Recipient of the 2007 VSS Scholarship, a $2,000 Award

Born in Accra, Ghana in 1987, Theresa moved to the United States and enrolled at Pearl-Cohn High School at the beginning of her junior year. She is one of four children in a Catholic home and has been highly involved in the Nashville community and religious activities. Described as a "self-motivator" and "well-rounded student" by teachers, Theresa has been employed at Kebab Gyros while participating in School Choir, Jobs for Tennessee Graduates, and Catholic Youth Organization, among others. In the fall of 2007 Theresa enrolled at Tennessee State University, located in Nashville. Her planned concentration is nursing.
